Batman: Arkham Knight review

By Kyle “TheMrToodles” Davis

Note: This review is free of spoilers and based on my experiences with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman: Arkham Knight is the latest installment in the Arkham line of video games. Developed by Rocksteady Studios, this is their third title in the series. The series began back in 2009 with Batman: Arkham Asylum, continued in 2011 with Batman: Arkham City, and just now in 2015 concluding with Batman: Arkham Knight. Side note: Batman: Arkham Origins was not developed by Rocksteady Studios, so it is not officially a part of the series cannon.

Affleck May Direct Solo Batman Film

According to “Da7e” over at Latino-Review.com Ben Affleck will not only star in a solo Batman movie that will make its debut in November of 2018, but he will also direct that solo Batman film as well, rumored to be titled “The Batman.” Da7e also goes further in his reporting stating that Chris Terrio who rewrote “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will also write the script for Affleck’s solo Bat-film.

If true, Terrio who won an Oscar for Affleck’s “Argo” now becomes one of the busiest writers in Hollywood. Not only did he have a hand in rewriting Goyer’s script for BvS, but he also is signed up to write “Justice League Part 1 and 2.”

This is not surprising to us at ShanlianOnBatman.com as we have been hearing for sometime that Affleck would indeed be the one to helm this film. These rumors have been circulationg since Affleck signed on to don the cape in cowl back in August of 2013.

We at SOB are 100% behind this idea, and hope that Affleck does indeed direct this film. He is a very visceral filmmaker, and the perfect choice do take over the director’s chair left empty by Christopher Nolan. Affleck is one of the hottest directors in Hollywood at the moment and Warner Bros. is keen to keep him in house, and what would be a better project for Affleck to direct? It is well known that Affleck loves the character of Batman, and for him to helm the project would make total sense. If this rumor does pan out, ben-affleck-directing-e1344456426473en atman on film will be left in gooBd hands.

Ayer Tweets about “Surprises being intact”

Over the past few weeks as the production for the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe film “Suicide Squad” began to ramp up we got our first glimpses through various set leaks, spy photos and even some video of many of the scenes that were being shot of that film. Over the weekend “Suicide Squad” director David Ayer responded in a series of tweets “Well we survived the streets. Time to go dark now. Remember, only the tiniest glimpse has been exposed. Our surprises are intact.” With that being said, it is still sort of surprising the lack of security that surrounded that set. When “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was filming in Detroit the security that surrounded that film was always high. Zack Snyder was able to retain so much control over what was able to leak out and what wasn’t. During that shoot the only real thing that was leaked out was the first glimpses of the new Bat-mobile, and Henry Cavill in his new Superman costume. Other than that we didn’t see entire scenes between major actors being filmed on someones smart phone from hundreds of yards away. So what is up with the lack of security of on the set of SS?

Maybe it was deliberate of them to not have such high security on that film to get more people excited about seeing that movie come next summer? The fact that it is now confirmed that Ben Affleck’s Batman will appear in SS might get more people in the seats during next summer’s crazy summer movie season. I guess the real reason why so much was leaked will never be found out, but with that being said lets hope that going forward there are no more leaks or videos of Jared Leto’s Joker smacking Margie Robie’s Harley Quinn. I guess we at Shanlian on Batman will keep our fingers crossed for that.
